Emma’s Journey – March 2011
Doesn’t it feel like we were robbed of Summer? Cooler temperatures on average, a hell of a lot of rain, strong winds and 100% humidity on some days. I am one person who will never complain about the fact that the months of December, January and February were cooler than expected. I’ve never dealt well with the burning sun due to my fair skin, not to mention the unbearable nights trying to get to sleep when the mercury sits above 25 degrees; disgusting. I swear we still had bountiful hot nights over summer which cruelly robbed me of many dozens of hours of sleep!
So I am rejoicing that we are about to jump into Autumn! Walking through the streets covered with burnt orange, crumpling leaves is still so much fun. I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of jumping into a pile of leaves and hearing them crunch around me!
However, the change in season can also play funny buggers with our bodies. You’re not as inclined to go outside early in the morning and exercise, that yummy comfort food starts to wriggle its way back into our diets and a lot more time is spent indoors with heating, which effects our skin.
I think a lot of us really try to keep as healthy and fresh as we can once the hot sun has disappeared behind those grey clouds, but I still often find my skin looks very lack lustre, quite pale, dry and rough. Agreed!?
Microdermabrasion is a great treatment to have when leaving Summer behind to rid your face of dead skin, as is an Oxygen Facial to inject a little more moisture and life into your complexion. I’m booking one in as I type!
Nothing like a fresh face to go with those brand new boots to wear during Winter!
